1

TEST

Prior to implementing and on a monthly basis, test your water using American Water works Association(AWWA)Standard method 9215C or most equivalent

  • Ensure bacteria counts meet CDC & ADA recommendation of <500CFU/ml
  • Verify water quality of non-surgical patient procedural water coming out of All water instruments on the dental unit(air/water syringe, drill, scaler etc)

2

TREAT

Daily use of AquaLiant tablets or cartridge is critical to prevent biofilm formation. Always have an authorized dental unit waterline treatment solution present in your waterlines.

Failure to comply with best infection control practices may cause serious illness to patients, and unauthorized cleaning agents may damage your equipment.

3

SHOCK

Shock your dental unit waterlines prior to initial treatment to kill pre-existing bacteria and ensure that Aqualiant maintenance tablets can do their job and protect your patients.

Shocking your dental waterlines monthly purges out any regrown bacteria and restores a clean environment for continuous treatment.

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) ppm represents the total concentration of dissolved substances in water.  AquaLiant 100 TDS or less cartridges are optimized for water in that TDS ppm range, such as distilled water.  If using municipal water, it is generally recommended to use >100 TDS cartridge.  Test using a TDS meter or consult your local water quality report to determine which is most appropriate. Source water >250 TDS/ppm is not recommended for AquaLiant or KaVo equipment, including Pelton & Crane units.
